I don't get fanbases that find solace in another team's loss after they lose, unless it has direct implications on your team's season.

Which is why we don't care about the Ole Miss win. I sort of wish tu won. It seems Mack's fate is now sealed. I wish that wasn't the case.

It doesn't have direct implications on the 2013 season, but it does have implications on 2014 and beyond.

Here's why:

Texas has always relied on "we're Texas" for their recruiting. If A&M is thought of as the first option for in-state talent to stay in state, A&M will pull in the blue chips that Texas has been wasting, and unlike Mack Brown, will coach them up.

That's because you don't have a rival.

If Bama loses, I'm sad, but if Auburn loses it helps the pain like three or four stiff shots or bourbon.
