He may be a little less dynamic than his counterpart from Texas A&M, but McCarron was the difference in Alabama’s 49–42 win in an electric atmosphere in College Station. The Crimson Tide’s senior quarterback bounced back from a subpar performance in a Week 1 win over Virginia Tech to complete 20 of 29 passes for 334 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. Alabama, the No. 1 team in the nation, needed every bit of his production.
