A few Spurrier notes from the Sunday teleconference ...

* USC is very healthy. Mike Davis tweaked his ankle a little bit, but he'll be fine.
* The offense was fine outside of Dylan Thompson's interception. Spurrier said that perhaps Bruce Ellington could have attacked the ball a bit better, but one thing also stood out -- on the pick, Vanderbilt's players all turned into elite blockers. USC has to work on that.
* Special teams -- Spurrier hasn't watched the film yet, but will do so this afternoon with the staff. Personnel will be examined. As for kick returning, Spurrier said he's at the point where he might just start telling the returners to stay in the end zone. They can't get out to the 25, so might as well take the free 25 yards on a touchback.
* Jadeveon Clowney has a painful bone spur that has bothered him since high school. It's never been this big of an issue before. If Spurrier had known he had needed surgery over the offseason, he would have gotten it, but it's always been the kind of thing to go away. Victor Hampton has one, too.
* Spurrier blamed some of the fans leaving early on the lengthy delays during the game, like a referee getting shaken up. He wasn't going to chew them out for leaving. "Our fans are pretty good. When you play at night, maybe some of them have a little too much to drink before the game, then all of a sudden, play gets a little dull, and they start thinking they can beat the traffic or whatever. I can sort of understand that."
* The wide receivers continue to flourish, and the targets will continue to go to who is doing the best in practice.

Might? I'm hoping he does

This is bullshite. Hes gonna chew out the student section for leaving early to avoid a heatstroke during the ECU game last year but its o.k. if you want to go get drunk during night games?
Spurrier should have called out the students.

I think this was huge. We got to see guys who weren't present in the first two game (K. Smith and Jeffery (should have made that catch, though). We have a lot of guys who can catch, good to see us spreading it around.

We're loaded at WR. I'm not too worried about any position right now except LB, and even that is more of an experience issue than a talent issue. The LBs are making the DLine look suspect right at the moment.
