Sturdivant was a complete stud and a 5 star...too bad
injuries killed his career.

Sturdivant and MAX JEAN-GILLES were both 4 stars according to Rivals: LINK He was part of the '07 class and yea, he had little positive impact due to injuries. Here's the link for Max Jean: LINK

And of course Max Jean was in the '02 class when we were more competitive early in Mark's career. And it's not like we haven't had some good individual OL scattered over the years; the problem has been overall lack of talent as a group which hurt those teams as a whole. There's no doubt in my mind that we could have won a NC with Stafford, Moreno, AJ Green and Co. if we had had a better OL and a decent defense. We just don't seem to be able to get all the pieces in place.

Not like we haven't signed any recently.4 or 5 star.
No doubt in my mind Sturdivant woulda been one of our
best ever and a 1st rd pick.Benedict was HIGHLY recruited by everybody as was Theus.

Precisely the real-a-dawg point. It shouldn't take twelve years to learn how to recruit strategically. If you have the same problem year after year, it is time to change something. Someone asked if the staff places too much emphasis on the glamour positions. I wonder. In the pros the trend seems to be spend all your money on a line and have serviceable running backs. Bama seems to have a similar philosophy, at least with respect to QB's.

Where was all this pissing and moaning about the O-line
BEFORE the season? Didn't see or hear complaints about
em after the Bama or Neb game.

Anyone?
