definitely agree. big time.
BUT, i'd also be lying if i said the fact that Saban isn't on the record for loving UA in general didn't bother me just a tad.
the best of the best scenario is when they're as good as Saban is AND love the place they're at. it's why the Bear will always be the ultimate coach for Alabama. Saban will be a close second. especially if he sticks around a bit longer and at least matches the NC titles that the Bear got... which seems highly likely.

True, but, in all honesty, Saban isn't much of one for letting sentimentality show. Even if he were to express an abiding sentiment toward the university, only the most ardent fans would take him at his word and outside fans would scoff.
I do know, however, that his known personal financial gifts to the university's scholarship funds have eclipsed any other UA coach, including Bryant. That makes me inclined to believe he (or his wife, at least) has a little something invested in Tuscaloosa.
