But do not panic, Alabama fans. It’s probably precautionary. People wear walking boots for a number of reasons, and it’s possible the Crimson Tide quarterback tweaked it in practice this week and the team isn’t taking any chances. Alabama plays Virginia Tech on Saturday in Atlanta for the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff and the reigning champs are 20.5 point favorites.

While it would be a bit of karma for McCarron to miss the game due to injury after about 100 Hokie players were swallowed up by injuries like the softball players in the “Homer At The Bat” episode of The Simpsons, it’s unlikely. Nothing has been said publicly about an injury to the ‘Bama QB. Maybe McCarron is just trying to start a new fashion trend, and he’s looking to be the face of the Walking Boot Generation.
