Fine, defense too. Front 7.

NT and DT and DE are all interchangeable in Grantham's 3-4 so the position listing should be taken with a grain of salt.

Nose Tackle

Chris Mayes- Juco early enrollee, came in January at a lean 330#, I heard he added weight, Rivals just listed him 315, I find hard to believe unless he got AIDS. Big long arms, almost freaklike. He's been held out of practice a few days as a precaution, concussion, could be smoke screen because offense was having a hard time getting anything done against him.

Mike Thornton- young, 315#, good feet, good lateral movement, plays low, he's officially listed as starting nose, which means absolutely nothing about who the actual starter will be, but it does show that Wilson and Grantham really like him.

Jonathan Taylor- Redshirt freshman, 6-4 336# listed on UGA site. He was a Rivals 4 star and #3 overall player in Georgia when recruited. We'll see how he does in the SEC trenches.

Defensive Tackle/End

Garrison Smith- Senior, the only starting lineman returning from 2012 team. Usually plays the end position, was responsible for the disruptions that gave Jarvis Jones alot of his sacks.

John Atkins- 6-4 300#, freshman early enrollee who had to sit out a year for grades, then got arrested for having expired DL, Richt said no suspension. Personal observation- the speediest and shiftiest of the D Line at the UGA Spring Game. He was a 247 4 star, and in the Georgia Top 20 per 247 rankings.

Toby Johnson- 22 year old JUCO transfer who battled torn ACL. He is practicing with team, and latest on him is instagram of him dunking basketballs... at 6-4 312#. Grantham says he'll be an End.

Ray Drew- Junior, 6-5 275# built like Clowney physically, listed at End, played in 13 games last year as backup, had 23 tackles. Scout and Rivals 5 star, lots of potential with this guy. He might should have gone to play in a 4-3.

DeAndre Johnson- Freshman, 6-3 311#, 3 star, depth

I'll include some of our bigger OLB's since they are basically linemen in Grantham's 3-4.

Jordon Jenkins- Soph, 6-3 246, presumed starter to take over for Jarvis Jones, played in every game last year. 5 star recruit by everyone but 247.

TJ Stripling- Senior 6-6 237, appeard in 14 games last year. Rivals/Scout 4 star when recruited.

James Deloach- Soph, 6-3 265, played as backup in 13 games in 2012

Chase Vasser- Senior 6-3 219# Scout 4 star when recruited. Started 2 games last year, played back up in a few others, then had shoulder surgery in Nov and was out.

Leonard Floyd- true freshman early enrollee, consensus 4 star prospect. 6-4 220#. Grantham has said he is actively competing for starting spot and doing well. He had hand surgery last week but is still practicing in a club and will be ready to go for Clemson if needed.

Middle Linebackers

Amarlo Herrera- played in all games last year, was a starter. Junior, 6-2 244#. According the Grantham, he and senior DE Garrison Smith have become the team leaders for defense, pushing guys to practice harder, etc.

Ramik Wilson- 6-2 232# junior, played in 10 games last year. He and Herrera (above) combined for half of all fumbles recovered for UGA's defense last year. He forced a fumble vs Bama in the SECCG last year.

Ryne Rankin- true freshman, 6-1 222#, 247 4-star recruit, Florida Top 50.

Reggie Carter- True freshman early enrollee, 6-1 229, Scout/Rivals 4 star, ranked as #15 linebacker in the country and No. 22 overall prospect in the state of Georgia by Rivals.com

There are 3 or 4 other guys listed at the positions deep deep deep in the depth chart, lets hope we never have to see them.
