During 21-0, AJ repeatedly rolled out and dumped it off to a TE. That doesn't require a world beater. We just need someone to not force it when it isn't there and throw it away rather than take sacks. Our defense and running game are good enough to where we don't need an amazing passer

That was true early. Smelly made some pretty good plays.

But AJ made some plays. Specifically thinking of Norwood. Then again, he was only going against TM7.

This past year we relied pretty heavily on AJ--particularly in the comeback (almost) against A&M and against UGA.

He can't go down for us to have a realistic shot at a 3-peat.

Against UGA, if AJ had been better at managing the game, we wouldn't have needed his big-time throws to Cooper. AJ fumbled early on, there was the delay of game on the otherwise successful fake field goal. Things like kept Georgia in the game. I believe with the way we were running the ball at will, that we could have won without amazing throws if whoever was QBing managed everything well.

As for A&M I honestly think if we had just committed to running the ball more and didn't lose the turnover battle we could have walked out with a W (with or without AJ).

Don't get me wrong, I think AJ is a top-notch QB. But I also give our defense and running game enough credit to be able to win without an elite QB.
