Great idea and I'm glad an administration finally has the balls to do it. Some people are not fit to raise children, and this aims to find bad parents and either help them, or take their kids away. I don't see a problem here, unless you are a shitty parent.

The government shouldn't have any say so in how I choose to raise my children. If I am abusive to them then that is one thing but allowing someone to come in to my home and dictate whether or not I get to keep my child is bullshite. What if that representative knows me and has a personal vendetta against me. They could come in and make up all kinds of BS and take my kids away. I would have no recourse at all.

My oldest child is autistic. I have had custody of him since 2003. I have been his primary caregiver his entire life as him mother is a POS. In 2005, while he was with his mother on a summer visitation she took him to a pediatrician that he had never been to before. She had taken him there and lied to the Dr about me being abusive and saying she needed him to write a letter stating that he felt that it was in the best interest of the child for my son not to return to me until the court could re-examine the situation. She pulled a fast one on him because at the time he had no physical marks. He based the findings on her words and 3 pictures of the same bruise. A bruise that he received on his arm when he jumped off his bed and hit his bookshelf. The judge read the letter and put set it up for an emergency hearing to determine whether or not there was abuse present. I was notified of this the day he was supposed to come home. When I heard this it felt like someone hit me in the stomach with a sledgehammer.

Now, with an emergency order the case is supposed to go before the judge within 30 days. We didn't go to court for over 10 months. So I went from having my son every single day for the most part to not being able to see him at all for almost a year.

It was all straightened out once we went to court and the judge came down pretty hard on my ex for pulling this stunt. I can forgive her for all the shite she did to me while we were married but for this shite I can't do it.

The point to all this is this, having a child taken away from you for any reason (assuming you give a shite about the kid) is the most helpless feeling you could imagine. There is already too much government control in the household that we don't need more intervention on their part.
