And what makes you think the findings and of the Council was wrong?

Besides, (and I could be wrong, because it has been awhile since I studied the Council) if I remember correctly the council was not adding to or subtracting to the Bible, but discussing and deciding church orthodoxy and liturgical elements....they didn't change the Bible......IF i remember correctly.

Because the council left out books, writings, and teachings. It compiled the books including Revelations to "compromise" with the christian factions that were spread across the world at the at the time. Also, it was organized by by the Roman Emperor Constantine I as a way to strengthen his military and slow the impending fall of the Roman Empire by "uniting" people by a means of religion. Happened quite frequently back then.

But what you are not understanding..(or perhaps you were taught incorrectly?) NONE of the books were written at the same time and none of them were together as one book. The Council was there to (Hopefully through God's guidance) decide which books were inspired by God, and therefore God's Word, and which were not. Same for teachings. Just because someone wrote a book back then, did not make that book inspired by God. Their job, was to find the books that were consistent with God's character, and teachings and
guided by God, figure out which were divinely inspired.

And just because something was done for military reasons does not necessarily mean that God did not use these events to put all of the divinely inspired books of God together to form one book...the Bible. God, In my opinion, uses earthly events all the time to accomplish His will. To believe as you...would mean that no man could ever be inspired by God. I find that sad.

Look, I am not trying to change your mind, simply laying out what I believe. As I told the other poster, this is a football board and a football thread. If you would like to talk religion, I would be happy to give you my e-mail address.....I didn't mean to sidetrack us.
