GBO

now to the serious stuff? how many wins do you guys see for us? im shooting for 6 with a bowl win to make 7, but wouldnt suprise me with 5 also wouldnt suprise me with 8 wins and 9 counting bowl if we can pull an upset! Florida is the one i could see happening, they lost alot and are hurting with injuries. Also could see us beating uga with the bye the week befoe.

Beating Florida, being in the swamp, just seems really unlikely to me.

If I had to bet on an upset I'd go with UGA, with USClight as a close second in terms of possibility. In all honesty, I just want an SEC win outside of Vandy or Kentucky.

way i see it is these should all be wins, im not saying they are because nothing is a given.. just saying they should.
austin p
western k
south bama
mizz
auby
ky
vandy

that is 7 wins.. with a bowl win would be 8 (id be happy)
BUT with one big upset we could be looking at a major turn around in the program. Yes @fla would be tough, but like i said they are battling alot of injuries, and lost several key players. While driskel will be back, he is missing some valuable practice time with his team. There was once upon a time we used to beat fla every yr @fla.

uga is the one that stands out the most with the bye week to prepare before it.. but south carolina isnt beyond reach either! Hell we could have beat them last yr had bray not fumbled! either way i think we are on the right track, the coach has energized the team and fanbase, recruits are starting to notice, i think its time things turn around!

We're 5-11 in Gainesville with only 2 of those wins coming after 1971.

ETA: 5-10. 1969 loss was in Jacksonville.

Don't know about Mizzou and Vandy.

I can see a close game with Mizzou, but don't forget that Mizzou was the most injured team in college football last year.

We played most of the season without our starting QB, we were without our star running back (Henry Josey), our O-line was decimated and full of inexperienced freshmen who actually performed far greater than anticipated, we had a woman as our OC, not to mention we had no idea what to expect from an SEC schedule.

This year we have SEC experience. We sort of know what to expect.

Our starting QB is truly 100 percent healthy and our backup QB (Maty Mauk) is giving him a run for his money not to mention he's the high school record holder for passing yards.

Our star running back is at 100 percent and is fired up to play. The team is super excited about his return as well.

DGB now has experience and pretty much all analysts expect him to have a breakout performance this season.

We no longer have a woman as our OC, but rather a southern football brain thru-and-thru.

Mizzou will be a tough game.

I could see us losing at Mizzou. Our real make or break games will be Auburn and Vandy IMO. Must wins unless we beat UGA or USCjr

How we lost last year still blows my fricking mind.

15 bowls of Knoxvilles finest and all you can eat at cicis wouldn't have been able to sooth the hurt that was my heart after that game. Got Dooley canned though

Still winning

All of this is moot. We had the Sunseri/Dooley combination last year. A freshman DGB drew up the game-tying TD play in the dirt (completely serious) that outsmarted them.

This is completely true. But don't forget that we still have DGB, except he's older and more experienced.

We call him Coach DGB.

Every game will be tough for UT until they learn how to win. Hopefully they develop a killer instinct.
