think we will see any of him this season? Apparently he ran the second fastest 40 after Byrd.

I was just coming over here to post the write up that someone did over on cockytalk. That 4.3 40 time sounds legit, b/c apparently they were timing him several times during different days.

Here is the writeup from the other board:

Let me start this out by mentioning who Joe Cololly said was the "fiercest" competitors of the team so far.... Skai Moore, Jacari Smith, Kadetrix Marcus, Ronald Patrick, Connor Mitch and Shaw, and Brendan Nosovitch.

Also mentioned was how Spurrier introduced Conolly to the group by saying he was "the best S&C coach in the nation".

Clowney ran two timed forty's and both were sub 4.5 per Conolly and Chris Clark.

The winning team for the workout term was "Step Yo Game up", led by senior guard Ronald Patrick with teamates Byrd, Garrison Gist, Coleman Harley(Aiken kid woot woot) Mason Harris, Tyler Hull, Kaiwan Lewis, Matulis and Waldrop. Patrick had a max squat of 675!!!!!!!!!!

Two players ran in the 4.3's consistently and they were Damiere and KANE WHITEHURST.

Jamari Smith has made waves amongst the coaches for his physique, work ethic(compared to Stephon Gilmore for his business-like approach), and was the most well rounded freshman to hit camp.

They mentioned that Voneshek and Na'ty have both been very coachable and have great frames to work with down the road. Matulis is also back near playing weight and has shown improvement in mobility(shoulder)

Said Devin Taylor recently came by workouts and was at a weight of 303 Lbs? Holy crap....

Moore, Bryant, and Walton are all physically ready as freshmen and arent the norm when looking at freshmen linebackers.

Corey Robinson was in the top 5 in squat at his height of 6 foot 8 331 pounds.

Everette Sands said that this was the FASTEST group of running backs he's ever coached.

---I couldnt read this exciting stuff without sharing with my Cockytalk Brethren. I hope this excites you guys and shows you all that not just the upperclassmen are showing out, the youngsters are working very hard to make a name for themselves as well. Conolly keeps saying there isnt a more competitive group in the country.

Feel free to add what youve heard and share what you think.

^Not my observations, just posting what someone else already wrote.

I also love that some of our "fiercest" players are playing in the secondary and are young guns. Can't wait to see who is DJ Swag 2.0

Just guessing, but I think Brison or Gurley have the next best shot of being the "Enforcer." Brison was known for being a headhunter in HS and he laid down a few good hits this past season.

On offense I think it will be Waldrop. He was known for having a mile long mean streak in HS as well.

I didn't hear anything about him during spring camp, but he may have had an injury issue that didn't allow him to play (???) Not sure, hopefully we hear some good stuff about him during fall camp. I know that Petrino was high on him as a WR when he was at Arky before transferring, so that's a definite stamp of approval....

All of the other stuff posted here makes me giggle like a 5th-grader looking through a peep-hole into the girls' locker room....

I'm willing to try him out as a returner. Special teams was a major success last year and I want to see that continue.

I just watched his highlight reel. What gives, he has great speed, body control and he doesn't shy from contact or blocking?

First, why didn't this guy have more BCS offers?
Second, why did he leave Arky?

I can't answer the first question...he had offers from Troy, Eastern Michigan, and a bunch of FCS programs (App State, Western Carolina, TN-Chattanooga), in addition to Arky.

He was dismissed unfortunately from Arkansas for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.. He chose to walk-on to the USC program. Hopefully he needed to get away from an environment at Arkansas and in doing so he's on the right track. As a WO, if he screws up at USC he should know his butt is out the door.....

We can all relate to that I assume.

I keep seeing visions of Dickey Harris when I see highlights of Kane Whitehurst. Whitehurst's style reminds me very much of Dickey Harris.
