This is spot on IMO. Once you decide to go to an SEC school, you pretty much should commit to staying in the south

UF is immune to your proposition right? Since we are all Yankees and all.

A degree for THE University of Florida should be worth a great deal all over the North and South according to rant logic.

Only if you don't plan on pursuing anything beyond an undergraduate degree. A degree from any SEC school will look good on an application to most graduate programs.
