How is the Swamp and Death Valley set up? I know Kyle has the A&M bench on the West side and thus in the shade very quick in to the afternoon but the visitor is on the East side and thus in the full sun until late in the afternoon.

Death Valey is set up with the sidelines facing east west. LSU sits on the West side facing East.

I have been to a game at A&M in the afternooon. The sun was bad not so much from the heat but from being in your eyes.

FYI The reason LSU plays at night was originally for 2 reasons (i) the heat and (ii) to allow fans from NO to get to the games (there was a train that came to the stadium a let people off around the old baseball field.)

As to the effect of heat & humidity, I was at a NCCA national track meet at LSU in the 70's. There was a world class sprinter from USC, that passed out in the blocks in the 200. All he did was warm up.

Try playing 60 min with all that equipment on.
