So it's safeto say through all of this that there is a marginal, if any, difference that is likely to cause no ill effects.

How is the Swamp and Death Valley set up? I know Kyle has the A&M bench on the West side and thus in the shade very quick in to the afternoon but the visitor is on the East side and thus in the full sun until late in the afternoon.

They try very hard to avoid afternoon games at Kyle in September (only do it if TV demands it). The '02 Tech game and the aforementioned Fresno State game were both 100 degree games with little wind and people were passing out left and right. Several folks had to go to the hospital.
