He's a sophomore behind seniors. I'm OK with this going into camp. He'll get his playing time though, no doubt.

Tell me why any #1 recruit in the country would want to come to Mizzou? I seriously doubt any other overall #1 recruit in the country looks at Mizzou and says, you know what, they're so damn good I can understand why the #1 recruit from a previous year isn't starting in his 2nd year. I'd bet they look at it as those folks at Mizzou don't know how to handle real talent. I get it if he's not good enough, but their are other considerations too.

I get it semo and don't disagree if looking at it strictly from that point of view, but if I were a #1 recruit and Mizzou came knocking, I'd really have to question how they handled the heralded DGB before I ever thought about going there.

My point is those numbers will change. Both my son's would be on the depth chart at the start of camp and at the end of camp the politics begin. Walk ons drop off or drop lower in favor of scholorship players.

thanks. It will take alot of luck for him to play safety. He will most likely play on kickoff return and maybe kickoff.

Getting my media days info off of twitter, did I read it right that the season opener is going to be PPV? If so, way to build up that anticipation and start the season off with a bang.

And Reedus, I get where you're coming from. I think it'll change during camp. He worked out exclusively with the 1st team offense in the spring. The coaches could be trying to keep him motivated.
I was frustrated at how he developed last season. But I got a different perspective from my SO, who played football at an SEC school in college. He watched a couple of our early games, and told me straight out - he's not ready. His opinion, just in looking at him, was that he was struggling with the plays and the level of competition. He told me in September last year that DGB would be a very good receiver his sophomore year, a great receiver his junior year, then probably be in the NFL. He told me to be patient - which, admittedly, is not my strong suit.
I think he was right though.

Yep. That's correct. Unbelievable.
And yes, we have some big guys - now let's just hope they're not soft. I also noticed that we apparently have 2 guys names Mitch Hall? At least, it was printed that way in the KC Star. That'll be confusing.

truth hopefully they wont be softies but even so a big softy is better than a smaller one
anyone see randy ponder listed as starter at cb (opposite to gaines). Dont get me wrong i like ponder i think he is a hard hitter im just nervous he gets beat on the outside too much. any thoughts? also think we have very undersized cb's if gaines and ponder are starters.

I'm hoping they're just trying to get him to work that much harder. The mental games, that go along with trying to get the most from someone's talent.
That being said, it just seems outlandish from the outside looking in. Especially from a recruit perspective. I'm sure other teams use this kind of stuff as ammo when talking to potential recruits.

The big Hall is the transfer from Ole Miss. I think the other committed straight from high school.

Well, CBs aren't usually very big. We may be a little undersized, but if they're ball hawks, fast, and hard hitters, I can live with that. Gaines is there, wish we could clone him.
And RC, I know how you feel - it's very frustrating when we see stuff that doesn't make sense.

I know the feeling. I can feel the black and gold glasses coming out already as the season gets closer. Looking at the depth chart:
OLine: I like our depth there a lot more than last year. I think you can comfortably go 2 deep at every position right now. I don't think you could say that last year.
WR: Absolutely loaded at WR where you can literally stick anyone in going as deep as 3 or 4 names.
QB: Apparently GP is waiting until mid August to name a starter
But I'd feel just as comfortable if not more comfortable if we had to play Printz or Hosick than I did Berk last year and they're 4/5 down the list. RB: Again, you can go 4 or 5 deep and not drop off much. Really excited and hoping the best for Josey this year.
TE: Little thin at TE in my opinion, but if Culkin stays healthy, I'm excited to see what he can do.
