Past performance influences future performance. Games aren't played in a vacuum. Teams get beat up. Teams get emotionally up or emotionally down. Some teams develop a winning momentum. Others develop a losing momentum.

It isn't like flipping a coin where the last flip doesn't affect the next flip. To the contrary. Why do you think teams want bye weeks strategically placed before Alabama?

So what you MEANT to type was: "football games are independent events INFLUENCED by previously played football games and to a lesser degree, upcoming contests. To what degree those influences directly translate into wins or losses is a matter of complete conjecture and speculation. Which is why Vegas exists and people like Coonass look like dickheads almost every year."


To which, I wholeheartedly agree.
