This. Besides, he can sit back and let Chip Kelly serve as the "canary in the coal mine" as far as whether a not a college coach with one of those crazy college offenses can thrive in the NFL.

Kelly is the stalking horse. If he has success in Philly this year and A&M has another strong year (as well as JFF), the dumptruck full of NFL cash will make its way to College Station.

We'll see what Summy says/does if THAT happens.

Coach Sumlin's contract was bumped to a 3.1M$ base. This is around the middle to lower end of NFL HC contracts. I'd imiagine with continued success that check will get bigger. I'm not sure money would be that big of a factor. Maybe wanting to take a step up but a lot of CFB coaches don't make that cut. I'm sure he'll think long and hard before making that kind of move.
