Can msu claim a redshirt for him last season, or is he considered a sophomore this year?

That's what MSU tried to do. He was RS this past season knowing the punishment was coming and figured that playing him would only make matters worse, yet Mullen all but laughed at the accusations when they came out. NCAA isn't stupid and made them burn his RS without play. He will go into next year as sophomore as if he did play last season. He will also sit out the first 5 games of 2013. This lost him 36% of his eligibility
