Restaurants and bars you refuse to patronize in Fayetteville.

A friend of mine just asked me to go watch the K-State game at Foghorns. I said no, only because I just really dislike that place.
I don't have a horror story of a bad experience, I've just never left there thinking "I got my money's worth, enjoyed my food, and the people that work there."
I just have a mental block against it. I have tried it four or five times, and every time, I think "I'm never coming back here."
As far as bars, STIR never gets a dime from me. Neither does Dickson Theater. Hutch's (which used to be Breakers) is another place that I simply won't go to. Its dirty, outdated, mediocre in every way, and the people take no pride in the place.
So, what are yours?

I thought Foghorns was a popular place especially to watch games?

I agree on Foghorns. Overrated wings.
I like Sassys patio now. I enjoy JJs on Wedington.
I don't really avoid any place besides Foghorns. Just a lot of places I just don't go to.
Oh, I do avoid Hooters and Tilted Kilt. I feel bad for the girls.

I agree with a lot of this. I enjoy JJ's, even though its a drive for me, living in central Fayetteville. JJ's doesn't have the best TV set up, but I like their patio vibe.
I like BWW, but they really need to redo their interior. It can feel dirty.
I think Tilted Kilt has the best TV set up in Fayetteville. Just amazing, huge TVs. Food is pretty good, but yes, I agree, it can feel like a "hustle", same as Hooter's. And Hooters. Man I forgot that place existed til I read your post. I don't avoid it, but I just forget its there.
I rarely go to Louie's. I did have a bad experience there.
With Foghorns, its just that I feel like its not a good deal. And the wings aren't as good as Buffalo Wild Wings. Prices are pretty similar. My honest vibe about Foghorns is that it just seems like a dull crowd of people to me. I don't like the vibe, the food, or anything about it. I can't really describe it any better.

Meh, I don't know about that. I know there are a few people who pimp it pretty hard on the Ville. I think they are the owners or know the owners or a little of both. Thats maybe why you've heard a lot about it.

I used to be pretty tight with the guys that opened it and helped with getting the original location that they just moved out of turned around and ready to be a restaurant. Some of my favorite days in Fayetteville were getting trashed and taste testing all the different sauce ideas. Their crowd was an extension of the bar patrons and it was a pretty well planned process.
I think if Jeff hadn't bought all the interests in the place most of us would have been around longer but it seems everyone has moved off elsewhere and the crazy times were basically grown out of so his staff is more just employees now than folks that hung out together all the time and had a little emotional stake in seeing your buddy succeed.
I'm with Hawgeye, I never go to Hooters or Tilted Kilt, and I really don't care to go to Twin Peaks either. The food isn't anything to rave about and there's not anything special about 6's and 7's trying to put some tittie out there.

I haven't been there in at least 3 years. Stopped in to check out the Baum location but didn't eat or stay long.

It really does. I hope their new college ave location fails, and JJ's takes it over.
I'm relieved that its not just me.

I was never really a fan, but I would go just to set my face on fire with insanity sauce. Haven't been in about 5 years. Has it gotten worse?

This shows how much I care about Foghorns....
Where did they go on College? They shite the original location down?
As far as food goes....I live on the west side and I feel like I have the best sandwich joint, sports bar and grill, and hamburger joint within a 5 minute drive of me.
Of course, I'm referring to Green Submarine, JJs, and The Burger Patti. If you haven't tried The Burger Patti, I suggest doing so.

They have two locations, one by Baum and one halfway down college.

I noticed the other day the one I remembered on college was shut down.

They are moving to where Mermaid's used to be. WAY back in the day it was a Pizza Inn.
