It's brilliant.
Let's see who has the more difficult schedules based on how teams have fared historically. I'll say that with Sumlin at A&M and their recent success, they'll be considered a tough opponent for the foreseeable future.
Tough games during even years with an 8 game schedule:
Florida: Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, A&M
Georgia: Florida, South Carolina, Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, A&M
Tennessee: Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas
Alabama: Tennessee, Auburn, South Carolina, Florida, Arkansas
Auburn: Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Arkansas
LSU: A&M, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina
Ole Miss: LSU, A&M, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Arkansas
Arkansas: Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, A&M
Just looking at those teams, it looks like LSU and Arkansas would have much easier schedules than others while Georgia, Florida and Ole Miss would be dealing with a very difficult one.
EDIT - Just glancing at the odd years and it looks like it doesn't get any more difficult for LSU and Arkansas. Alabama and Auburn pick up 6 difficult games. As does Tennessee.

This is a cool idea. But u still think just keep it like it is , but the rotating game should be based on previous results and you play your cross division equal with a +1/-1 differential, just in case your rival is that matching partner.
It's basically saying for 1 game each year we are taking an NFL stance on scheduling , the best play the best and the weaker play the weaker.
