How do you get completely "fair" schedules for every team in the conference?
Stop counting the permanent non-divisional games for divisional titles!
Problem solved.

quote:well yeah. LSU's permanent opponent from the East is Florida.
FACT: Over the past 13 seasons, LSU has played Florida and Georgia in 17 non-divisional games, while Alabama has played Florida and Georgia in only 8 non-divisional games.
LSU has also played Kentucky more times over the past 13 years than has Alabama. Whooooo. Scary. Big Scary Kentucky. Hope you have a miracle play ready.

LSU. Win something since 2007 and get some respect until then lose to Clemson and embarrass the SEC, oh ya and get shut out in the big game. 21-0, quit crying pussy

It's the same principle

#1 we won the SEC Title in 2011
#2 That kind of a response says to me that deep down you know you're wrong and you have no argument to defend your flawed position. You are intellectually incapable of dealing with that so you have to lash out. It's pathetic.
At least Patton can form some kind of rational thought to respond with.

nope... we are talking about football not murder.
It would be more like the scholly limit being at 25 now, and BAMA signing 25 and everyone else deciding to sign 18 just because they didn't choose to sign 25.

But what about traditional rivalries?
Problem solved. Keep you precious rivalries, but non-divisional rivalries don't count for divisional titles.
Everyone is now happy!

The rest of the SEC was not free to schedule additional conference games

So LSU refused to play UF 1992 and didn't agree to the permanent cross div. game back then?
Posted on 5/22/13 at 4:14 pm to Patton
Well that's just my opinion based on my interactions with Alabama fans. I'm not calling y'all names, it's interpreting your behavior. Two totally different things.

Everyone else was too dumb to cheat? I guess that's fair
1st off, it wasn't cheating when, during the time, the SEC didn't dictate each school's SEC schedule.
2nd off, it wasn't like every year Bama played more SEC games than everyone else.
1966: Bama = 6 games; OM = 7
1967: Bama = 6 games; UK = 7
1968: Bama = 6 games; UK = 7
1969: Bama = 6 games; UK and AU = 7
1971: Bama = 7 games; MSt = 8
It wasn't until 1974, that the SEC instituted scheduling by the SEC. And back during those days, everyone probably wanted to play Bama because it meant you would be on TV.

Well #1 we aren't refusing to play anyone. We just want to see you play a more challenging conference schedule like we do.
#2 I don't think anybody really knew the implications of the scheduling system back in 1992, when it was 2 permanents not one. It was changed in 2000-01 for competitive balance reasons and since then the official position of LSU has been that we oppose permanent opponents. The ridiculous bridge schedules have brought additional attention.

FlukerFlakes, thank you, I didn't feel like looking all that up.

I'm on my phone right now so I can't post the dates that I saw but Mississippi State playing more games doesn't mean a whole lot
