Fran ran a Jimmy Johnson type of program but without the victories. He allowed bad behavior and his lack of leadership built a wedge between the team. We had quite a few turds on those years with attitude problems that infected the rest of the team. Everyone loved Goodson and J-Train but it was known they were a problem in the locker room. Yemi Babaloa robbed a drug dealer at gunpoint and went to prison. Reggie McNeil was basically kicked off the team for his final game for skipping team meetings. Hell, Von Miller almost kicked off when Sherman arrived because of his attitude. We also had a lot of good character guys, including Miller, but the attitude and losses made things even worse than they already were.

I'm glad Sherman is gone but, with the shite sandwich he was left in player personnel, team morale and attitude, and the massive amount of burned bridges Fran created amongst Tx HS coaches, it's amazing he was able to repair and rebuild recruiting and the team's character as much as he did. Just couldn't take care of the final hurdle when gameday arrived, specifically the 2nd half.
