Anyone here old enough to remember the Ole Miss - SC games of the 60s and 70s?

It almost developed into a little rivalry. There were some really good games between fairly evenly matched teams back then.

I don't but my dad talks about that every time my SC friend is in town.

I think we played seven or eight times in the 70s. I know those were some lean years for y'all, while at the same time we were having some above average years, but the games were always stellar, close games. The '75 game in Jackson I remember the best because I was there (not too many games were on TV back then so away games you always listened-to on the radio.)
It really did develop into a little mini rivalry in the 70s. We never played y'all during the Vaught years but I got to meet him one time at a fundraiser in Memphis and it was like meeting royalty. He had recruited my older brother out of Treadwill, up in Memphis, (who ended-up signing with Arkansas before transferring back to Memphis State in '61 to play for Spook Murphy.), and then my brother was on the Memphis State team that tied Ole Miss in '63 I think it was. Ole Miss fans were livid but Vaught still led them to another SEC Championship that year. My brother still talks about that game - it was a big deal for Memphis State at the time.
Coach Vaught was a class act.

Next to South Carolina, I've been to more Ole Miss games, in Oxford, than any other SEC team - it's not even close. Been to at least forty games down there and including the '89 Liberty Bowl in Memphis. Know the campus like the back of my hand. Have tailgaited in the Grove too many times to remember.
