Think Ole Miss did in 2008. Went 2-1 with the loss being to Bama by 2.

I do respect the fact that most of the Notre Dame fans (Lou Holtz included) did not use the old tired, worn out excuse about tougher academics at Notre Dame than Alabama or any other SEC school. I think at least 2 or 3 SEC could run the table if they had Notre Dame's schedule.
