Bama had a great OLs, great RBs, and a very good QB that improved each and every year.

I don't know who was at the helm at LSU, but the design of the passing offense was horrible, and the QB play was even worse. The only thing LSU had was a good offensive line and a deep corps of RBs.

The defense and special teams at LSU were fantastic, but the passing offense was about as weak as an SEC passing attack can get.

Considering that, it is amazing how competitive LSU has been with Bama. I attribute that to their fantastic overall talent level, which had to be very similar to Bama's.
