-- A new name starting to gain some traction in both the baseball and football recruiting world is Jared Padgett (Graceville, Fla./Graceville Vocational), who is a left-handed pitcher in baseball and a wide receiver on the football team. Padgett is an under-the-radar player in both sports predominately because of his high school’s small size and lack of competition. In the baseball world, he’s starting to gain some acclaim as Florida State, LSU, South Carolina and some others are starting to talk to him. The Gamecocks caught his eye during the College World Series championships and he’s going to make a trip to Columbia before making a decision. The Seminoles have already tabled a nice offer.
