What's the best series to watch on channels like hbo, showtime, starz, etc?

I just bought one of those cords to plug into the back of my tv from the laptop, so I can pretty much watch anything on these nifty little bootleg sites.
I've watched all of Walking Dead (on AMC but whatever), one season of Entourage, and one season of Boss. I think that's it.

Game of Thrones doesn't really seem like my type deal. But I might eventually give it a shot. I keep seeing Homeland on the google.

Either really. I'd like a show with at least one season under it's belt though so I can be occupied. I don't want to be back looking for another show this time tomorrow

Breaking Bad would be a good one.
The final season is split up into two parts. The first part already aired. Second airs this summer I believe.
You could watch that and be caught up in time to watch the final episodes. The show is insanely popular. Watching the final live on TV would be fun because you get to discuss it with everyone.

Party Down is a good 30 minute show. Only 2 seasons. It got canceled. Its hilarious. You'd fly through that one though.
It's a good one to watch before bed when you wanna watch something quick.

Damn, everyone is on Game of Thrones.
And I tried watching Breaking Bad before and couldn't get passed the first 2 episodes. Does it speed up?
And I just watched the trailer for Homeland and it looks pretty awesome.
I'm gonna keep Party Down on layaway since it's 30 min

HBO's two seasons of Rome was great.

Breaking Bad definitely picks up.
If you want a pure action, badass show. Try Sons of Anarchy.
I haven't watched Game of Thrones because Im not big into that genre. I'm gonna try it soon though.
