If some of the rumors are true, Mal's going to be resigning from the planet pretty soon.
I hope they're wrong, but whatever's wrong is bad enough for him to travel to Duke to seek treatment.

I read a while back that he had a medical condition. I wondered then how much longer he would be serving in his AD capacity.

I will say the situation is more serious than was being told and for those that want to poke and make fun of my "source" it is as close as you can get and screw you anyway.
