It's become evident that we have got to start scheduling tough OOC opponents in

Basketball. I'm not talking about going off the deep end, but I think around 4-5 RPI top 100 clubs, with a couple of them being in the top 30-50 would be substantial. And they need to be on the schedule, and not a hope we meet them I'm a tournament situation.

Say we had 5 on schedule, lost to the the top 3 and won the other two, that is still more impressive on the resume than going undefeated with a non conference slate in the high 200s.

I know Tennessee got snubbed, and that was mainly their fault for shitting the bed in conference play down the stretch, but that that is what we need to model ourselves after. They were an inch from getting in with merely 20 wins.

Does anyone know how much of the schedule has already been made up for next year? Hopefully Bjork can get on this.

Our OOC strength was supposed to come in that Hawaiian tournament, but we fricked ourselves by losing in the first round.

I'm aware, that's why I said we need to put a few ON the schedule, just in case something like that happens again.

FWIW, we had some tough OOC teams on our schedule with Kentucky (i.e. Duke, Louisville, Maryland, etc) but we screwed ourselves by losing to them and then dropping some in conference. If you win it's not an issue.

It's a thin line to tread though. You don't want to weigh it down in OOC so much that you have a tough SOS but your RPI takes a hit because you start racking up losses.
