I encourage you to get out of the house. Like I said before, go for a drive with the purpose to get lost. Make it a local drive, but take roads that you've never been on before.

Play your favorite music (or some mood music) in the car. Perhaps music you listened to one night when you made him a strawberry daquris.

Just drive. Zone out on the scenic country views and think about your dog.

Driving is amazing therapy!

When I received news that my father had unexpectedly died, I immediately went for a drive. I had one of the most enlightened experiences of my life! I truly believe that he spoke to me on that drive through incredible moments of grief, clarity, and scenic beauty.

He sent me his peace that day on a random meandering highway. That was the last time we "spoke" to each other and it was the most beautiful experience.

I both grieved and healed during that drive. I'll forever be thankful that I was able to process his death, make peace, and move on in such a short period of time. The last thing he'd want is to see me emotionally tortured over his passing.

If anything, he'd want me to celebrate his life and continue to be a strong person in mine.
