If there is no break or tear, then this is just a time issue. Your ankle will take time to heal...and it'll hurt for quite a while.
I've done worse to my ankle and it simply takes time.
Keep working out. Keep your ankle strong and full of movement. The moment you limit mobility on your ankle, it will tighten up and the pain will increase.
