Brent rode Stoops coattails for years, that's why OU wasn't sad to see him go. Seriously, if you look at OU's Total Defense rankings during the time Stoops was DC, then look at the Venables years there was a huge drop off (except 1 year out of many.) Then he went to clemson and they had one of the worst defenses in the nation this past year, but they've had "solid recruiting" for over decade.

Clemson has recruited athletes at skill positions but totally ignored the trenches on both sides of the ball for half a decade; that's why The Cocks have started to dominate them and it's why UGA should win.

I don't know who 'they' are, but Stoops reportedly tried very hard to keep him. He was going to do what he had to do get his brother back after the disaster at Arizona

Supposedly they offered to give him a big raise to stay. not something typically associated with getting demoted

Venables is a fire breather.He's played and coached under some of the greats. I don't expect you to say anything decent about Clemson bro

But ill just assume that like UGA and plenty of other programs, it takes a year or two for a DC to implement their playbook. Ill be surprised if we don't see a new look with them on defense sooner than later
