Then apparently it would surprise you to learn that the Iron Bowl has NEVER decided the SEC West division title, wouldn't it?

FYI, a game "decided" the title if A) the winner of the game won the division AND B) the loser of the game would have won the division if they'd won that game (assuming all other games went the way they did). So, for example, this year's LSU-Alabama game decided the SEC West. No Auburn-Alabama game ever has.
