Not necessarily, it depends on the trial, criminal or civil, how high-profile it is, what kind of evidence (a lot of scientific vs. circumstantial), etc.
The jury I was on was made up mostly of professionals. It was a rather high profile criminal trial for the area with mostly circumstantial evidence, and not much of that. They were looking for a jury who would most likely convict with that limited amount of evidence and not look for a reason to acquit.

Well then you get into the chess game of jury selection with the two sides too. You can go in and be less than desirable for either side, but if there are people who are thought to be even less desirable or more risky, they will be struck.
