16 is the new record. The previous record was 15 in 1987.

I'd classify my knowledge of MSU sports as Casual at best, and even I know we went 18-0 in 06'. We made it to #1 ranked in the country and went on a downhill slide to not even make the SEC or NCAA tourneys that year. Luckily we made up for it in '07. 
Here's to not repeating that and living up to our early season hype.

And then went on a slide of an epic nature. I can't remember if there was a specific injury or something that derailed that team, but do remember going from excited to apathetic very quickly.
