More than just the #1 DT, the ONLY really elite DT in the State this year. Really thin year on the interior line, easily the leanest position on D in Texas for 2014. The next best is hoping Solomon Thomas grows into a DT role but he's probably ideally a SDE. The issue relating to Texas is they got no one at DT last year in a pretty deep year for DT whereas A&M got 3 of the Top 4.

If games are won or lost at the line of scrimmage (and I hold to that theory, I remember when the Cowboys were good it was because Jimmy Johnson had the lines stacked) then Texas is really in trouble.

Last year they got no one at DT like you mentioned in a year where the DT position was deep. They also lost their top recruit when Bama flipped OL A'Shawn Robinson.

This year, with a very thin DT crop, Texas loses out on who may be the only elite DT as you mentioned, more importantly someone who grew up a Texas fan but they couldn't keep him. If you think you heard that before, remember A&M also picked up a long-time Texas fan in OL Tank Davis (from Garland Lakeview Centennial, my SO's alma mater, had to get that in for her).

It doesn't matter how good your QB is if he's always flat on his back, or how bad the other team's QB is if you can't put pressure on him.
