The bottomline is that AK has amassed these wins by scheduling a piss poor OOC slate,

this is a common theme among people who are incredibly Anti-AK(not saying right or wrong)

I wish I saved the article because I can't find it on ESPN's search engine but Andy Katz wrote a great article late last Fall about how Andy Kennedy has perfected the OOC scheduling. They really gave him kudos on it.

I've heard commentators on tv say the same thing.

I give him credit for getting the schedule changed to benefit the program with more wins and a better looking record.

It was the right thing to do and the new coach should do the same. I'm a fan of a similar plan for football (not popular either).

However, that does not excuse him from the fact that his "ZOMG, MosT WinS EAvR!!!111!" title is manufactured and much less meaningful.

To sharpen my point. He did the right thing to make the schedule easier, he simply didn't do anything else to improve the program after that. Therefore, he ended up with the OM wins lead by default and NOT because he brought better, good or great basketball to OM.

In essence, he took a 15 win team (with a sub.500 conference record), rearranged the schedule and now that team is winning 20 games (still with a sub.500 conference record). Then, on top of that, he's had better talent and better coaches and he's STILL only winning 20 games and missing the tourney.

What should have happened was that he took a 15 win team, changed the schedule and made it a 20 win team. Then added more talent, making it a 22 win team. Then add great asst coaches, making it a 24 win team. Then add a great offensive and defensive game plan, making it a 26 win team. Then using that success to get MORE talent, making it a 28 win team.* And so on and so forth.

I'm not sure I'm accurately conveying my point so let me know if I need to work on it.

*of course, the order in which these pieces are added is not important. It's simply the fact that they should have been added period.
