imo yes. Right now all he's going to see is backup duty and if Jake or Ogbuehi get hurt then Cheeks is ahead of him.

If that changes then I'd pull off the shirt. But you are wasting a year for a guy to play 4th quarters vs Rice and UTEP and Arkansas. I can see the point of it some. We played M Matthews this year to get experience but he is walking into a starting job. If Cheek beats out Stuckey next year then you just wasted a year for nothing.

This is my quick glance at our depth chart of the 335 we were running today

SDE - Stansbury, Alexander
NT - Zo Williams, Points
WDE - Tyrell, Tyrone Taylor

SLB - Askew, walk-on Jake Russell (Sanders still out)
MLB - Baggs, Chevis
WLB - Ward, Wade

NB - Hurd, Honeycutt
BS - Matthews, Franklin
FS - Raven, Burns

CB - Everett, Jacobs
CB - Harris, (I couldn't tell)

I'm going to skip the Offense other than OL. Here is how they lined up today

LT - Matthews, Stuckey
LG - Harrison, Gramling
C - Matthews, Compton
RG - Ifedi, Cadon Smith (walkon)
RT - Cheek, Klinke

Guessing Ced is hurt and they did some reshuffling by moving Klinke out to tackle but I dunno
