Oxford to Memphis is a little over an hour's drive. Your comparison really doesn't hold.

Also, the town itself has probably as many Ole Miss fans as Tennessee fans, and the Commercial Appeal covers Ole Miss as closely as they do any other SEC school if not more closely, so really Memphis is an Ole Miss town.

Memphis is as much an Ole Miss/Arkansas city as it is UT. Coach Jones has increased a presence in the Middle Tennessee area. The Nashville area is one of the fastest growing areas in the country and with that the high school talent is getting better. I think he is going to try to get into Memphis as much as he can but Nashville is an area that he is focusing on more than any other within the state.
