I was talking about this with an LSU fan yesterday... we usually agree on football matters despite our differing loyalties, and this is what we decided:

a) it's good that there is a change, and that alone is a really good step in jumpstarting the offense. Even if Cameron was stale at the Ravens, there is a good chance that the different dynamic will translate into success. Chavis was thought to be stale by some, and for the most part, he has been AMAZING for LSU.

b) the concern is that LSU's offense has been stale, so in hiring a "name" coach that might mean more of the same, it's a "safe" move vs hiring an up and coming young dynamic person (Like Kingsbury-ish).

c) We don't know how much autonomy the new coach will have. Since Miles is an offensive guy, there is no telling how much control he'll give up, or what he's been calling in the past.

d) So, it is reasonable to be really excited and optimistic, but also have a nagging worry that it's going to be more of the same.
