I personally would like to see Blake Sims as the backup QB in case A.J. gets hurt but have Bateman get all the snaps in clean-up duty and blowouts. Have him play a half against the likes of Georgia State and UT-Chattanooga to get him ready for 2014.

Yeah I agree. I think a redshirt on Cooper Bateman would be a waste since AJ is gone after this year. Cooper needs to get as many reps as he can in practice and actual games. If he is going to be the man, would be nice to get a head start on 2014.
