Cultural differences. I always wonder if they actually like it, or if it's just one of those fringe things in a group's cuisine.
I love kipper snacks, but I know I'm in the minority. If you fed it to an African they'd probably throw up and think our cuisine stinks.

I'm going to say it has to be a cultural difference. But it was nasty. I was in LA once and I ate at a chinese restaurant where they served some sort of duck dish, but the head of the duck was cut off and placed in the middle of the platter. I mean i wasn't sure what to do with it. Eat it? Leave it there? Why was it there in the first place?
