I bought a whole bulk bin of rice to save my bose speakers after I left them out in the rain with my ipod shuffle. Worked like a charm.

Did it really work?
I've always wondered if the iPhone in the rice trick worked.

It definitely work for awhile.......phone may eventually die but it'll buy you a few months for sure

It worked perfectly. On both. It was last year and it was after one of those drenching rains. I got home and saw it out there, and freaked out. Ran to the store, bought like $20 worth of rice, put it in a tub, and both went from not turning on to sounding perfect the next day. I left it in there a good 24 hours.

Yup.
My brother jumped into the pull with his.
Worked okay the next day. Wasn't ever 100% after that though.

Mine has been 100%, but at the time, I had house guests and they kept teasing me because I ran immediately to the store, bought the rice, and submerged my speaker system in it. They all wanted to go to brunch, and they just thought I was being stupid.
I think the longer you wait to apply the rice, the more damage is done.

i went submerged to retrieve a duck once and the phone went with me. kept it in rice for 2 or 3 days and it was up and running again for about 2-3 months after. then it got all womperjawed.
did it once with my wife's and it did not do a thing to fix it.

I feel jipped or I am too stupid to execute rice in a bowl.

rice has worked for me on 2 different occasions with a phone that was wet. Once it was dropped in the toilet so completely submerged. And the other time it was rained on. Both times worked great.

Maybe you waited too long or didn't use enough rice?

Within 5 mins of plopping it like it was hot.
Should I have used Watermaid?

That is the only thing I could think of.
I don't really know though.
It could just be the luck of the draw with your electronics.
