re: Need advice about a gun

I own two handguns - a Glock 17 (9mm) and a S&W .357 magnum. I prefer the revolver. Even though it's heavier, I feel safer with it because of its reliability, its safety, and its power. (You only need one shot with the right ammo to do major damage.) I'm also very comfortable with it, and I believe that is extremely important for any gun owner - to find the one that fits you.

I've been shooting since I was young, but I recommend that anyone who is relatively new to handguns do the research, shop around with a friend or relative who's knowledgable about them, test many, go to reputable dealers, take your time choosing, and definitely find the one that suits your needs best & that you are most comfortable with.
