I have never, and I dont think will ever understand why people laugh when we are bad. I mean why is that funny?

Sometimes the only thing you can do is laugh.
The difference between the preseason expectations from almost everyone in the media and what we've seen recently really is laughable, though.

My expectations have been rolled back. Just get the best seed we can. At worst a 7-8 but just get in.

I agree. With what's happening with Coach Haith, I think a decent seed and a couple in the tourney would be well above what I'd expect at this point with what I've seen.

I'll tell you how much I've tempered my expectations. I just want to make the tournament first. I think we will and will root like hell that we do, but I just don't think anything is a given with the current state of this team. 14 wins with 13 to go. Should make it but we'll see.

Remember, we can (and I think will) help our cause come SEC Tournament time. Those are big additional wins with the only risk being 1 potential loss.

I think it's really hard not to help ourselves at that point.
We look pretty bad in the last few games, but two of those games are against the (likely) two best teams in the SEC.
Glad we're going into a bit of an easier stretch while this whole Haith thing settles in. Assuming we keep him around until the show cause comes out, we shouldn't see any more big time news before the end of the season.
This type of adversity can certainly help a team bond together and get things going. Bowers seems like a much bigger loss than I thought he would be when it originally happened, but hopefully with him coming back and the Haith news being a little old they'll be able to get a nice roll going through the end of the conference season and through the tournament(s).

That got me to take a look at how things would fall right now if the season ended today. As it stands right now, we'd play the winner of UK vs. UGA/USC. Obviously things can and will change a lot by then but I'd prefer not to play UK in the SEC tourney the first game regardless of how bad of a season they're having right now.

I need to stop looking at these things because there are so many moving parts, but moving up just one spot and getting a 3 seed would mean we play the winner of A&M vs. Vandy/LSU as things stand right now. I like that scenario a lot more.

At this point, I'm scared of any of them.
