He's not a "gump" in the sense that he has no ties to the university. He's what you would call a "sidewalk alum". Dude made $100M for himself and others when he sold Rivals, waited out his non-compete, and then in less than 3 years turned 247 into the beast in the industry. He's no idiot. You don't have that kind of successful track record without being very good at what you do. And you don' thave that track record be being wrong a lot. There is a reason ESPN isn't thought of in the same light at 247. Their rankings have proven to be most accurate.

Additionally, they offer the composite ranking of all sites and compare it to their own. They aren't hiding from anyone or anything. They know what they are doing and they want to put it out there for everyone to see.

Sure, never claimed the guy was not good at what he does. I used the term gump generically as identifying him as a bama supporter/fan.

They seem to be the most popular service now. The composite rankings is a big reason IMO.
