On the drive home to Louisiana for Christmas, hit an ice patch after horrible storm (maybe 2005?) on I57, right near the big Lambert's sign. Spun, were facing oncoming traffic, and slammed into snowbank/median, rolling. Snow stopped us; we ended upright with snow up to the windows, roof crunched in. Just me, wife, and dog (who went flying). Christmas presents everywhere.

Tow truck guy saved Christmas so I gave him everything I had in the car that wasn't installed - jumper cables, ratchets, a knife, big bag of beef jerky, etc.

To this day I hate ice and everything it stands for, and will stand there and urinate on it until it goes away so it can't destroy any more Christmases (Christmi?)

Just south of Sikeston? I was born there!

And yes, ice storms are the worst. I remember the year you're talking about - huge snow storm, with ice underneath it. There were a couple more ice storms that year too, my parents (who live in town) were without power for 3 days.

Glad y'all were alright.
