I have a pretty good idea of the pitching situation and I feel really good about that.

Who steps up at the plate this year? Who will have the most HRs? What are the upsides and downsides of this team?

The rival's poster that breaks down Ole Miss metrics is basically saying this:

Ole Miss was 20% behind theoretical runs scored in conference play last year based on core stats (singles, doubles, SO's, stolen bases, etc, etc).

Ole Miss loses key players bringing the theoretical median and ceiling down.

However last year's team was an anomaly and so far below the median that this year's team projects to score more runs than actual 2012 production even with the loss of Snyder and Yarbrough.

That's just from a metric stand point. There of ofcourse tons of other variables that could change in the postseason. I've also been drinking and can't explain as well as I think I understand it.

Our pitching will probably be even stronger this year than it was last year, even with the loss of Hively. I'm not sure what to think about the Offense yet. Losing Yarbs, Snyder, and Kirksey will surely hurt but we had a lot of young guys starting last year and they will have their chance to really shine. I expect Mathis and Bousfield to really step up and shoulder the load. Hopefully some of the younger players can help too.

Pitching will be much better especially in the bullpen.

Last year we were in a situation where everyone in the pen but Huber and Jon Andy Scott were in their first year playing for Ole Miss. That really puts Bianco in a tough spot because it's hard to know who is reliable in tough situations. It's not something you can simulate in practice. It's something the manager has to learn through live play. I think he'll have a better idea, and ofcourse the young pitchers will improve.

I'm skeptical about the offense.

The pitching staff should be deep.
