This is me speculating but I'm beginning to think that some of the older assistants are getting tired of the CNS grind. I've read where Bobbby Williams probably won't be with us as a coach any more and now Burns. I'm not meaning any of this in a negative way--that there is some animosity or something between Saban and the assistants. I don't believe that at all. I think he and Saban get along fine, but doing what Saban wants can take its toll. If you can make more money and work less, then why not leave. He's got the rings. Why not get ready for retirement? It sort of makes sense to me from that standpoint. Hell, Lucky said that Saban called a meeting at 3 PM on Christmas day. Grandpas don't like that shite and I can't really blame him if that's what is going on.

I love what BB has done for our program. He's been great for our RB's and our LA recruiting. But it's no secret that BB is one of our lowest paid assistants. I'd think BB will get a counter offer to stay for what he's been able to do. If it's only money then hopefully we'll match it. But if it's something else and he leaves, we'll be okay. I'm sure most of us realize that.
